This 16-week course is designed to act as a step-by-step guide to help you practically implement concepts, tools, ideas, and principles that will help you successfully achieve the balanced and healthy lifestyle that God created you to live. This course is specifically for you if you did not receive the necessary tools needed to build a healthy relationship with yourself. Each week you will learn new skills and concepts using a step-by-step guide to live a healthy and balanced lifestyle through self-love. Check out what we will focus on each week.

You will learn techniques to help you build your belief system. Your belief system is your foundation. Whatever you believe about yourself, God, others, the world, etc., will impact your actions and how you live your life. For example, you will never achieve your dreams and goals if you do not believe you can. If you do not believe you are worthy of love and a balanced life, you will never go after the life that God has for you. During week one, you will learn the following: 

 

  1. Why you may struggle to believe you are worthy of love
  2. Why you may struggle to believe you can attain the lifestyle you desire
  3. Why you may struggle to believe you can achieve your dreams
  4. Practical ways to combat the lies that keep you down
  5. How to be more aware of yourself, your emotions, and your thoughts
  6. How the power of the Holy Spirit can help you believe

You will learn practical steps that will help you become more patient with yourself. Patience will help you stay grounded and remain focused as you learn balance, more about yourself, and how to build a healthy lifestyle and relationship with yourself, God, and others. During this week, you will learn the following: 

  1. Reasons we may become impatient with ourselves as we grow 
  2. Why we sometimes struggle to remain patient
  3. How we can use our lack of patience as a tool to help us achieve our goals
  4. A different approach to situations that may cause us to become frustrated or impatient with ourselves 

In weeks three and four, you will focus on learning how to build a healthier relationship with yourself. This means accepting who you are and learning to encourage and appreciate yourself. You will learn the following: 

  1. Common reasons some people struggle with low self-esteem, self-worth, and comparing themselves to others
  2. How to have a healthier dialog within yourself by embracing positive thoughts of self 
  3. Practical ways to address low self-esteem 
  4. Practical ways to combat comparing yourself to others and wishing to have the things they have (e.g., their physiques, lifestyles, talents, etc.)
  5. Practical ways to put on the identity God gave you while removing the harmful identity you have become accustomed to

In week five, you will learn how to walk with humility. Humility is a valuable quality to have when walking with God to live a balanced and healthy lifestyle, but sometimes it is hard to stay humble in today’s society. Do not feel ashamed if this is your struggle. You will learn the following: 

  1. Why God calls us to remain humble and how humility keeps us balanced
  2. Common reasons you may struggle to walk in humility 
  3. Practical ways to partner with the Holy Spirit to overcome hurdles keeping you from God’s blessings and living a healthy lifestyle 

In week six, you will learn about balancing pride. Sometimes our pride can become toxic, leading us to fall. It can get in the way of our dreams, goals, and relationships. During week six, you will learn the following: 

  1. The difference between healthy pride and toxic pride
  2. Ways a prideful heart can harm us 
  3. Why we may struggle with pride
  4. Practical steps we can take to balance our pride and remain humble
  5. How to identify whether our pride is helpful or harmful

In week seven, you will focus on building more self-esteem by honoring yourself. You will learn the following: 

  1. Common reasons we struggle to honor ourselves 
  2. Ways we may be dishonoring ourselves today
  3. How to get out of cycles of unhealthy dishonorable relationships
  4. Practical ways to begin honoring yourself in multiple areas

In week eight, you will embark on a journey of building a selfless lifestyle. You will also learn how to build healthy boundaries and process any pain that keeps you from living a selfless lifestyle. In week nine, you will learn about your emotions. We will mainly focus on anger and other emotions that do not make us feel good, including sadness, jealousy, depression, and more. You will learn the following: 

  1. Why your emotions are essential and good for you, including the ones that do not make you feel so good
  2. Ways unresolved emotions can harm your heart, body, quality of life, and relationships
  3. Practical ways to use your emotions as tools to guide you to success 
  4. Practical ways to healthily address and process your emotions while building more self-awareness
  5. How the Holy Spirit can help you balance and manage your emotions

During week ten, we will cover a huge and complex topic: forgiveness. Sometimes it is so hard to forgive ourselves and others, and sometimes we struggle to trust God when He allows us to experience pain. So during this week, you will learn the following: 

  1. What forgiveness is and is not
  2. How unforgiveness is harmful to your heart and how it can hold you back from experiencing God’s blessings
  3. Practical steps that can help you forgive yourself and others 
  4. Practical steps that can help you trust God with your pain

During week eleven, we will focus on allowing God’s love to infiltrate our hearts as we learn how to be more like Him. We will acquire more of His ways by embracing His truth and forgoing any subtle patterns or behaviors that we may not be aware of that are harmful and not like Him. During week twelve, we will focus on learning ways to partner with God to experience His protection. God seeks to protect us from many things, but sometimes we walk into situations that can lead us out of His protection. You will learn the following:

  1. Practical ways you can partner with God to protect yourself in four areas: spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically
  2. Practical ways to protect yourself spiritually by helping you reveal the root of any sin that you may be struggling to overcome
  3. Practical ways to protect yourself emotionally by learning techniques to combat loneliness, as the enemy loves using loneliness to lead us away from God’s protection
  4. Practical ways to combat any lies you are fighting against mentally
  5. Practical ways to partner with God for your physical protection

During weeks 13-15, you will learn how to build trust and confidence in yourself, persevere when things get tough,  overcome fears and disappointments, and practical steps you can take to accomplish your dreams. Here’s the breakdown:

  1. In week 13, you will first discover common reasons some people struggle to build trust and confidence in themselves. You will also learn how to combat any lies that hold you back from building trust and confidence.
  2. In week 14, you will learn about common reasons it can be difficult to persevere. You will also learn how to overcome failure and rejection while learning practical ways and concepts to help you build healthier habits.
  3. During week 15, you will learn how to create a step-by-step guide that you can use to create, track, and achieve goals.

During our final week, you will be reintroduced to three familiar tools you will need to keep as you maintain your balanced and healthy lifestyle. You will learn the following: 

 

  1. The meaning of each tool
  2. How they will help you in your everyday living
  3. How to use and balance them as you continue living your balanced and healthy lifestyle while building a healthy relationship with yourself, God, and others

Part of this course will focus on the specific guidelines God lays out to teach us how to love and care for ourselves, free ourselves from pain, anxiety, unforgiveness, guilt, shame, and more. Part of loving yourself requires you to accept the love God has for you. This course will teach you how to allow that love to reside in you and release yourself from pain.

How To Build A Strong Foundation

Having a strong foundation will help you weather the storm, but you first need to know what elements are needed to build your foundation. You will be introduced to three familiar elements needed in your foundation. You will also gain an understanding of what they are and why they are important. You will then learn how to use each element in terms of loving yourself.

How To Build Your Belief System
